Our Mission is to:

- Preserve the natural resources of Outer Island

- Provide environmental education and wildlife dependent recreation

- Assist with maintenance and improvement of island facilities

Outer Island will be open to the public beginning Monday, June 8.

Thimble Island Ferry Service is operating under their usual summer schedule and will be practicing social distancing. The captain may request you wear a face mask. Please follow the directional tour marked with arrows while visiting Outer Island. No bathroom or picnic tables are available at this time.

June 2, 2020 The USFWS and FOI are very happy to provide this remote training document to all our returning volunteers. Due to current health concerns, volunteers are not yet allowed to resume any on-refuge duties. The SignUpGenius scheduling program for Outer Island is therefore not active. If and when volunteers are allowed to resume normal duties, we will notify everyone promptly. Thank you for understanding. Please stay well!
